BEHIND THE SCENES NO.2

Here's another EXCLUSIVE behind the scenes look at the making of the new SJ Esau video that the Hanking Brothers are currently working on. These aren't the scenes, these are bullet points to help me edit it. It won't make any sense to anyone other than me..how very self indulgent of me...hey! that's the way to be!

THE MEETING

Here i am having just got back from a meeting, an important meeting, a meeting about a party..

These are the notes i made during the important party meeting. On the way to the important meeting i walked in with a bike lock, on the way back i walked with a bag of chips. There were a few men who were stood outside a pub who shouted "Ha! lost at Ascot did we mate!!? hahaha!"

LIVE GIGS (March - June)

I normally write a few notes or post a video from any live gigs i go to but for whatever reason i seem to have forgotten or put-off doing this for quite some time. He's a re-cap (for my own sake really, i like doing them end of year lists don't i..and i need the info for the 'Best Live Gig' award. Ha! I'm soo cool aren't i!?). Before anyone starts with the "I thought you said you had no money!!" ..a lot of these i got into free (thanks JC!). I'm not gonna go into details, maybe i'll just score them (you gotta have a system!). The scores are based soley on what the gig was like that night and not on how much i like/dislike the band, singer, dj ...oooh, i feel like i'm getting a bit serious here, sorry about that.

Here's the re-cap of what i've seen since March..

BIG MOUTH STRIKES AGAIN!

Below is a review of our set at Venn Festival. We came across it on the Bristol Choke Forum. We don't know who wrote it (it wasn't us), what we do know is that it's a little better than our only other live review written by Zapsta.

"OLO Worms – never has quite so much nervous anticipation been witnessed from a band about to take stage. In fact they are on stage, but such is the proximity of the eager culture vultures to the band, the OLOs were quite literally backing off before they got their coo-ing, rustling harmonies into shape."

"Crouched over banks of wires and knobs – each twitch and utterance unleashes another layer of sound. From such a shaky start, the OLO sound stirs and then sweeps you away. We are prey, carried off by carrion. A rare sighting of accidental genius, amongst the teeming hordes of genuine ‘artistes’ amassed by Venn."

BBLB (Not On E4)

How about that blog title eh!!?? BRILLIANT!..if i do say so myself. If you don't get it, i feel sorry for you. Here's my Brother with a TV plug..

"I have a small part in a documentary that is to be aired over the next week or so. The documentary is called 'Born Boggle Eyed'. The truth is far too boring so i'll leave it at that. Details of when and where you can see my animation are on the poster. Mark x"

There will be visuals by Herts Eye Hospital.

We are 'Surf pop' ?? according to the Guardian guide..

NEW OLO SIDE PROJECTS

OLO Worms have split!..in two!..just for a little while. Before we start work on new OLO material we have decided to form two new bands..

So to make it clear,

Delifinger & Lionheart are called THE GORLKEEPERS

Seaweed & Boonbeans are called WOMEN RUNNING BACKWARDS

Each group will be making an EP which will go on sale through our website on the same day. No idea yet when that'll be. Keep an eye out. More info on the new groups to come soon.

As we mentioned in the previous post Lionheart is working on a new solo EP. There are rumours that Delifinger is also working on something solo too.

ROZI PLAIN & RACHAEL DADD - LIVE (13th June)

LLAMA NO SHOW

I'm sure no one noticed, but sorry if anyone who was at the Lynton & Lynmouth Festival (Llama 08) this past weekend was expecting the OLO Radio team to be DJing on the lawn inbetween the bands. We were'nt asked this year but then found out we'd been listed in the programme?? Then one of the organisers rang my mum to ask if we could do it!?? ha! She actually went to the festival and in theory could have done it, and probably would have done a better job than us. Some of us have been to the last 4 Llama festivals so we were kinda glad to give it a miss this year. At some point we'll edit together last years video clips.
